Sorry guys, one of the HDD's in the raid array that holds the database is going bad and causing the database to go offline. Our host will be rebuiding the array tonight at 10PM EST, so the forum will be down at that time for 1-2 hours.

Thanks,
-Jake

When changes are made to styles via the Admin Control Panel, they are only made in the style cache, not the actual files for the style... which I wasn't aware of until about 5 minutes ago. So over the next couple of days I'll be working to get things back to normal, sorry for the inconvenience.

Not me. I couldn't take the smoking snail's speed of my old Toughbook so I shelled out the bux for a new computer. Not quite the hotrod my old one was that I gave my missus, but still, more than enough for what I do. Went through my favorite sites and couldn't get FsN forum to come up. Took me a bit to realize that it was the site and not the new computer!

Hmm. All of my fivesevenforum.com bookmarks either give me a "cannot find server" message, or redirect me to this fnforum.com url I am posting in. I actually had to sign in (had to look up my password it's been so long since I needed to actually sign in) :ponder: .

I switched to Chrome a while back, and now this site won't remember me. I have to log in every time I get on the site. It does the same on my Windows 8 IExplorer at work. What setting am I missing? Other sites and forums I am on have no problem remembering me.

I'm getting the same thing...having to log in every time...and I'm using Firefox. I don't think it's a setting on your end.

We are on a temporary port, there have been some more hardware failures and our host is working with comcast to get it fixed. Don't expect full service until Monday at the earliest.

For those still having issues I found a workaround that seems to be working great. Go to opendns.com and set up an account. they will give you 2 opendns server IP addresses to add to your computer or router settings which will redirect you through a better functioning dns server.

JoJo called me, yesterday, and said he still couldn't get on the server. I tried and work at home, yesterday morning, and it worked. However, when I went home that evening, from my home, it didn't.

Seems to work, now.

It still seems hit and miss here, so I am using openDNS to gain access.

As of 9:45pm here in Washington I can only access it by using the opendns servers not Comcast. I can also access it using my T-Mobile service.

Just tried accessing the forum from home using Comcast and am getting errors again. Tried my opendns which worked before and it is also not working. Using the Web on my T mobile phone doesn't work unless I switch it to incognito, and then it looks plain text and no pics.

I was trying to edit the FsN friendly list last night & the site wouldn't load. It wouldn't load this morning either. AFAIC, it's been down ~24hrs.

I think the hamsters just caught the flu.

The strange just got stranger. Using my home network again but using safari on my iPad I had no problem going to or logging in. Could this be a Firefox or IE stop gap? I'm somewhat tech savvy but not understanding this one.

Are the storms we had recently messing with anyone's service? My buddy works for my ISP and they had a fiber cut in ohio a couple days ago.

I wonder if that fiber cut caused them to have to reroute the DNS. Today the site works again on my end no mater what service I use.
