This has probably been addressed....

Post by jckilla » 12 Jun 2014, 12:40

I noticed on Gunauction.com this ammo and a wide variety of insane looking 5.7 rounds. I've read the company doesn't exist and that it's one guy producing it, but has anyone tried any of it? Some of it looks really well made, but some is questionable. - http://gunauction.com/buy/12823188/ammo ... projectile" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And this one - mercury encapsulated??? - http://gunauction.com/buy/12823189/ammo ... projectile" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
What do you guys think?

I think someone saw a pic of an April Fools joke & tried to replicate it for real (the drill bit bullets). I wouldn't touch those.
I've seen ELP ammo before but have never seen it fired, not even for testing. I'd probably never fire any of those rounds so I wouldn't buy them either.

I read that the rounds the guy is selling are actually tangible. Are they just complete <profanity>? The mercury round is the only one interesting. If a round could deposit liquid mercury in an attacker, that would be amazing.

When did Emerson, Lake & Palmer start making ammo? I thought they were more into Moog synthesizers.

Oh well, I guess that in reality their goal is to perform Brain Salad Surgery.

Who knew they were out to kill zombies?

Check with your local laws, something like that may be considered "excessive" ammunition.
Idaho is pretty open on their gun laws but I had AP rounds loaded in my FsN for carry ammo. They strongly suggested I change my ammo when I asked if it was what they regarded as "excessive." I still carry AP in my back up mag though.

And based on what you just publicly said, any DA can make a case that you were trying to kill your attacker, not merely trying to stop a threat.

I thought of getting some just to add to my display board of rounds, but I prefer to stick with the known makers that you can verify legality of the business. jckilla if you want some exotic rounds like those I would suggest you make them yourself. There is not enough factual data on that company to trust the products as anything more then for looks.

i wouldn't buy those rounds, nor manufacture them, i was being purely hypothetical. I've been a victim before of a home invasion/armed robbery. I will not be a victim again. I live in AZ, if someone breaches my front door, im not going to shoot them in the back if they turn to run, im not stupid. But they will be down before they get one round off. God Forbid I EVER have to take a life, but if it's a scenario like what happened to me before, had i had a weapon at the ready, things would have been different. They are all serving prison time to this day. If when they get out they come looking for me ( because i sent them to prison ) , then yes, i hope they don't make it out. Sorry if im being honest. Im not threatening anyone, but those who threaten me physically, will be dealt with extreme prejudice.
