I've got a kinda obscure request here (hence, I'll not be surprised if no one can help):
Can anyone point me to some schematics/diagrams/take-down instructions for a Browning Model 520 12 ga? Ive seen some for like $20, and Im just too cheap to spring for it. I mean, everything's supposed to be free on the internets, right?

Re: Browning Model 520 disassembly
Grantness, I'm pretty knowledgable in the Browning and possibly help you out, but this model I have never heard of nor seen. Could it be an A5 or a A500? There is a model 52 but is a 22lr.
Re: Browning Model 520 disassembly
I dont think so. Its an old Browning pump action 12ga. Model 520, 520A, or possibly some other variant.
It was a Browning 1905&1907 patent produced by J Stevens Arms and Tool co. and assembled with Browning parts. Most were produced before 1932. I beleive I have an older version since the safety is located inside the trigger guard. Thats pretty much what ive gathered on it so far.

Re: Browning Model 520 disassembly
ah gotcha, Made off a browning patent. Got a picture?
Re: Browning Model 520 disassembly
I dunno if pics of my gun would help. I've got it mostly disassembled, and havnt tried to put it back together since I dont have the schematics and im not quite finished working on it yet anyways. I'll try to post some pictures soon, though.
It looks similar to this one, although the reciever isnt blued and the wood isnt checkered. I've also had the barrel cut down as short as I can w/o having to get an SBR permit.

Thanks, thats prob what I should do. I almost feel like this would be cheating  All I need to do is figure out how to install the feed ramp....but im stumped
Re: Browning Model 520 disassembly
Well, im pretty much done working on it. I wish I had some before pics, so you could see all the rust, grime, and scratches....but the pic above is fairly similar. After looking at it, Im not sure if I want to blue the barrel anymore. I think it looks good how it is.
Re: Browning Model 520 disassembly
That's nice Grant, well done.
Re: Browning Model 520 disassembly
Grant, that is very pretty. You did some good work!
Re: Browning Model 520 disassembly
I just discovered GunParts.com . If you need schematics/diagrams or parts for old/obselete guns, this seems to be the place. I just ordered schematics for the 520 for $1.50. They say they will email them to me within 2 days. I have a broken part in my 520 that I will be ordering from them as soon as I get my schematic (so i can find out what its called  ). Damn theyve got some obscure parts...
