Pistol grip or not?

Post by Mister Freeze » 03 Oct 2012, 14:46

Primary shotgun is a Saiga 12. What to do with my other one?

Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge shotty: Pistol grip only, or overfolding stock. Discuss.

does the maverick have the safety on the receiver like the rest of Mossberg's lineup? if so, no pistol grip.

I'd recommend the overfolding stock. A buddy bought a Mossy 500 with just the grip and I found it considerably less comfortable to shoot than my 500 with full stock/no grip.

my 1919 is finicky with cheap ammo. I really want to like it but as long as my 930 JM pro eats everything, it's tough.

For how unenjoyable pistol grip only shotguns are to shoot typically, I'd go with a folding stock / pistol grip set up. If you're looking to stash it somewhere, think of it like this. If you have the time to get to a long gun, you have the time to unfold the stock.

Either a side folder, or a top folder. Whatever tickles your fancy in this case.

folding stock or collapsible for me. i had the pistol grip only on my 500 and after shooting a tube full of 00 buck "rapid fire" i quickly swapped it back to my collapsible stock. if you are shooting bird or something smaller the pistol grip is fine, but whats the fun with bird shot?

I have a pistol grip & fold over stock on my Mossy 500A. I did this because it hurts to shoot more than a few rounds w/just the pistol grip even with light loads. I vote fold over

Would an overfolder fit in this?

I don't really shoot this unless I need to. The S12 is more fun and accurate, plus can hold a lot more shells.

Go with a mod'd adjustable AR stock! Kits are out there to allow for them to be put on. I am working on one for my
590 with a magpul stock
