Shotgun for Skeet Shooting

Post by 57js » 13 Jul 2012, 17:46

Can anyone recommend a good, relatively cheap shotgun for skeet shooting?

Thank you.

Mossberg Maverick. I believe it comes with a 28" barrel for around $200.

I bought an ADCO 12ga (made in Turkey) over/under from CDNN for $369, $391 shipped to FFL. Walnut stock, engraved, nice looking gun, with 5 chokes. Shoots well.

The Turkish over/unders like ADCO or Huglu (CZ) will not dissappoint you. You will get looks down the nose from folks who paid 5 times as much, but you can outshoot them.

I see that CZ makes some O/U shotguns. I know many people think highly of their handguns, what do people think about their shotguns?

CZ's O/U's are nice for the money, but not inexpensive to compared to the lower end stuff out there. For a few hundred dollars there's a ton of O/U imports from Turkey. Check gunbroker and you should find a ton of Charles Daly's laying around for cheap, and the models they were importing from Turkey have Rem chokes so choke tube options are endless.

Any shotgun will work. Buy a cheap 870.

But if you want to look the part too, you need an Over Under, and frankly, the CZs are as cheap as I would go.

But if you want the best cheap O/U, I would go with the Baikals.
