Bore sighting tool

Post by Rapier1772 » 31 Dec 2016, 22:34

I am sighting my new rifle (6.5 Grendel), does anyone know a good bore sighting tool?
I have a kit one but the arbors are too short to get past the muzzle brake and it doesn't have the elevation needed for my scope.

I also have the barrel end one but it's not even getting me on the paper at 100yds.

I haven't used one of those brass case looking ones but the reviews are pretty poor anyway.

Unless someone has a better idea, I'll just do it the old way - 3 shot groups at 25yds, then 50yds, then 100 & so on... I don't have a lot of ammo yet so wanted to avoid that method.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

The system I use is pull the bolt, put up a post-it note with cross hair drawn on. look through barrel line up. adjust site to cross hair. will get you close.

Sandbag or use a "vise" to hold the rifle steady. Works for me!
