Is it available in 5.7x28mm??! I haven't seen it on their list of available calibers for that model. (Or should I move the thread to rifle forum?)

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

Savage showed a couple bolt actions in their catalog a long time ago, several years, but they disappeared without materializing. No official word why, but I'd guess different powder/glue/primer every other lot = inaccurate bolt gun.

As fare as I know only one was ever made in 5.7 that made it's way out to the public.

Pictures of the rilfe, groups, anything? This guy owns a one-off factory prototype Savage in 5.7 and no one else has ever even heard of it? If he's not an enthusiast of the round, why not sell it to someone that is?

Because he is a big time fan of the 5.7 which is why he has it.

I would suspect, since I have talked with him MANY times over the years i would have to pry it out of his cold dead hands.

If it ever needs a new home He would call me first. FYI I would take that call.
