New 5.7x28mm pistols.

Post by panzermk2 » 18 May 2014, 20:24

2 brand new 5.7x28mm pistols are in the pipe line.

One a poly and one metal.

The metal one will kick some but and work with current FsN mags. It is in stress testing right now.

Target price point of the better metal one will be a great less then that of the FsN.

The Metal one will be strong enough for full pressure stuff.

Wow a five inch barrel and you can Reload to Higher Pressures. I Want One Know, does Anyone Know When These Handguns Will Make An appearance To The Public? I At Least Want To See A Picture Of It And The Internals. If They Were Smart For Military They would Make A Select Fire Handgun. The 5.7x28mm Is Very Manageable. I also Wonder If There Will Be An Exposed Hammer On These New Models?

I really hope ( http://atomitronx.com/products.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) ( Fred Craig ) produces a barrel or the whole thing for our fav round. That Micro 22 is nice and comes with a 9mm barrel to swap out.

Just found this page, not sure if it's "RS7" is in production
RS7 Automatic Pistol "Slinger"
- http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic ... 6&t=181582" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - scroll down to the RS7

Image
Sub-Category: Automatic pistol
Sight: Fixed forward sight
Action: Gas powered
Gas Operation: Long stroke piston
Round: 5.7x28mm NATO
Magazine: 9 round handle-magazine, clip-fed
Stock: None
Barrel: 4.5 inch (115mm)
Firing Mechanism: Contemporary
Weight: 1.66 kilograms without magazine
Length: 11.8 inches
RPM: 350

The "Slinger" is one of the most modern fully-automatic pistols in the market. This weapon can shoot at a short range of 325 meters, but with exceptional force. Though the bullets are smaller caliber, they are propelled with good accuracy for an automatic pistol. The pistol can aslo shoot fairly fast, and holding the trigger down will provide continuous fire. We decided to increase the accuracy of this pistol further, and added a built-in sight to allow for maximum accuracy. In addition, this pistol features many different modes that can be switched to via the turn dial near the trigger. One mode is safety, and the others increase the velocity at which the bullet will leave the gun. In this automatic pistol, the gas chamber and piston are built-in under the barrel. Be warned though, higher settings cause a much larger recoil, and may damage the weapon if over-used. Overall, this weapon is light, fast, and a hard-hitter. An excellent firearm for an excellent customer.

It might just be me,

But for some reason, envisioning anything but the P90 and FsN shooting the 5.7x28mm in a semi-auto platform is REALLY hard to do.

I just can't see it. I know it's possible, but for so long the idea has been posterized on the FsN.

If it was a Glock, the grip would have to be long.

But, to quote panzer, if they build it, it will work (and, yes, THEY will come).

It might work but at the same time, I'd want to make sure their chambers are in spec.
Unlike their unsupported chambers which mean you have to buy after market barrels in order to safely reload the rounds.

I'd be happy with a FsN that's given a striker fired system like the FNS. That should allow a higher grip on the frame.

Sounds good to me, but with a grip like the HK VP9 and a low slide and bore axis like the CZ P-01. Keep the trigger and fully ambi controls off the Q. 4" barrel with an optional 5.5 threaded. Uses Glock sights.

A guy can dream...

I would be interested if they were from good firms that make and support their products.

A cheap and unreliable pistol is in effect worthless to me.

Most of us have seen that too often of late.

One will be from a well known and respected firm.

The other? Not so much.

I considered the Masterpiece Arms pistol for about 5 seconds and than no.

It doesn't fit my needs.

MAC-10 based design could work if they updated the engineering.

That's pretty disappointing to say the least. Both companies??? Any idea what made them scrap everything they had done? Sounds like a pretty drastic thing to do...
