EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Just purchased 50rds of EA's *37gr DevestaTOR ammo. Was wondering if anyone out there has done ballistic testing using standard FBI gel specks? And also why this ammo wasn't readily available for purchase by civilians in the past, but now suddenly it is available for both LEO & civilian use??
Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Working on the ballistic testing.
Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Sweet!! Can't wait to see result.
Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Awesome Buffman By the way, any information about why "EA" is only now selling this *37gr DevestaTOR to the general civilian populace ?
Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Thanks for the info and looking forward to seeing your ballistics testing for the DevestaTOR ammo on YouTube.
Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
I'm curious with the result of the test as well.
Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Is it safe to assume that EA's *37gr DevestaTOR ammo is the most powerful 5.7x28mm commercially available today?

Power denotes energy; are you asking if this puts out the greatest muzzle energy vs any other 5.7x28mm commercial round?

Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Yes! Muzzle energy plus penetration. Of course I'm only assuming based on he available ballistics test and the fact that Jay Wolf himself has briefly talked about the basic mechanics of the round. "Commercially" available is defined on the basis that civilians can purchase products without any government intrusion or restrictions!! SS190BT's can not be purchased legally by the average Joe, so in my opinion WE civilian 5.7 owners do have other options, T6B, Black-Fang-Obsidian Dragons, and the DevestaTOR which in all probability out performs AP bullets....

"SS190BT's can not be purchased legally by the average Joe"
This is not correct. You are completely allowed to purchase ss190. The restriction was only on the business end of FN/FNH-USA.
Which is why you will find it all over Gunbroker, etc.
As far as muzzle energy, a quick google across the various rounds will tell you the answer to your question. Just do the simple math.

Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Federal law dictates civilians cannot use AP ammo, here in California I cannot commercially purchase SS190BT nor be in possession of it! My reasoning for the original post is the ever so similarities between SS190BT and EA's DevestaTOR round! For a while, even EA wasn't selling the DevestaTOR commerally to civilians. Only to LEO & Military personal...

OHHH
You're in Kommifornia; sorry, I don't consider communist states when I answer gun questions in general; it just doesn't pop up in my mind, my bad.
In that case, I'm wrong; you're right; it's probably restricted in your state. I didn't see anywhere stating that you lived in California in your previous posts, sorry if I missed it.
But if you lived outside of CA, it is legal to own. Further, EA's non-selling to CIV was also akin to FN's non-selling to ss190; it was NOT illegal to own, either (in non-Communist states).

Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
LOL No worries! I'm a transplant from Arizona. Making my $$$ here in California then getting the Hell out and back to AZ. I can't even own a PS90 here, for-sure California sucks. The new ammo ban (restrictions) begins Jan 2018. So I'm binge buying all the "speciality" 5.7x28mm that I can budget.....
Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
I have the Dev's on hand, just need to get $$$ for a gel block for testing. IMO the best penetrating to wounding potential ammo is T6b/Dev. SS190 may out penetrate it on PE style hard armor, but it is limited soft tissue penetration.
Re: EA's *37gr DevestaTOR Ammo
Agree! The other day I ordered 100rds of DevestaTOR for home defensive and EDC. I find it fascinating that in this current gun culture paradigm that there are so many 5.7 haters! The 5.7 is probably one of the most ergonomically crafted pistols designed for defensive purposes on the market and not to mention the diversity of ballistic loads that it can handle....
