Dudeee what's up?

Been well, you sound well, too!

It's raining non-stop here in Austin. They said it would be the worst drought in 5 years, then it has been raining non-stop for 2 months, haven't got to shoot a match in a while.

Lots of different companies are cranking out the 5.7x28mm round, lately. Got some to test out.

Weather has been crazy in Chicago too. We keep having constant 30+* shifts in temperature. Last week we went from 81* one day to 48* the next day. It has been doing this once or twice a week for like 6 weeks.

They are opening up a new shooting range that is literally within walking distance of my house though. Im super stoked for that. The plan is to shoot once a week bare minimum.

Who has come out with 5.7 lately? Last I checked the newest stuff was American Eagle.

Lol, shooting the fiveseven made me broke. It was so much easier on the bank account to train with 9mm. So I guess I have to buy a can of 5.7 and get reacquainted with her.

Thanks guys.

I finally got away from working 80+ hour work weeks. when you go from 80 hours a week to only 40 you feel like you have so much time on your hands. Just waiting on this sportsmans club to open up down the street from my house so I can shoot a few times a week. the next closest range to me is 45 minutes away and is constantly packed to the gills. cant wait till this new one opens.

As for new and exciting, Just got done putting together a new AK.I still want to throw an aimpoint T2 on it but I have also been building a Jeep for the past 2 years and I just dumped the last grand into it to finish it up. Talk about a money pit. Its going to be a fun toy and my 8 year old is super stoked about it but I would never build an older jeep again. The next one will just be a new jeep. I wanted to completely restore it so we bed lined the complete interior and exterior, lifted it, threw some big Mickey Thomson mud tires on it, etc. I'm getting the front and rear bumpers installed this weekend and she should be done for now. So hopefully I can pick up an aimpoint for the AK within the next month or so.

Well, Got a good deal on a brand new Krebs AK103k-S back in December when they were still available.

I went to Mr Krebs shop a few weeks ago and he showed me some up and coming rifles that I fell in love with that should be due out in a few months So I put the (now unavailable) AK103K-S up for sale and sold for about a $200 profit.

Problem is, I have wanted a SCAR since they were released and I have the opportunity to get either a 16 or a 17 for several hundred off retail.

Dont know what to do. Bouncing back and forth between the Krebs AK or the SCAR and if I go with the SCAR Im bouncing between the 16 or 17. I want the 17 but I know I will be able to shoot the 16 almost twice as much. Maybe not twice but darn close. Do I get the one I really want and just shoot it a little less or go with the 16? Do I stick with the Krebs which is the lambo of AKs and be able to shoot it as much as I want because of the cheep ammo?

That's a close one.

The thing is, AKs are just now finally getting to a point where they are moving in innovation that will allow them to be on a whole different level...

But honestly, think about it this way;

If you got ALL 3, which would you shoot the most, still?

The SCAR 16.

And guns are about shooting. I've shot nice AKs, and the SCAR still wins. I too, wanted the 17. But then I realized I wouldn't really shoot it, much. I don't need the hitting power, and the 16 reaches to 800yds, easily. Usually, I say it's the user, not the platform. I think it is much easier to be faster with the 16, because it already is such a fast gun. If you're able to get at less than 2k$, I'd jump on it.

Then start saving up for the AK :) But honestly there is so much room for AKs to still grow, that I think you'll find a great one in the future :)

That's all I'm saying :)

Your thoughts are almost identical to mine. Some of the things Mr Krebs showed me on these soon to be released AKs are what you are describing in regards to innovating. Thats why I got so excited about it.

I went down the thought process of "what will I shoot most" and that would be a tie between the 16 and AK since I can get both ammo at relatively the same cost.

I think its going to be the 16.... But damn do I love the krebs AKs.
