Ran a couple loads over the weekend. Was using Frontier plated 55gr bullets, which seem to generate pressure sooner than regular FMJs for some reason. Temp was about 50, alt 5000ft, FsN with EA barrel and spring

Unique, 55gr Frontier, CCI400, 1.580"
3.5gr Av 1283, ES 111, primers slightly flat
3.6gr Av 1299, ES 64, primers slightly flat

Noise, recoil, ejection all pretty normal, shoulder movement excessive, no neck dents, clean cases. For some reason, this new barrel moves all shoulder excessively, including AE and 197, although neither of those two produce any primer flattening.

Longer barrel more time for the pressure to be working on the brass.

This is also a good example to those who think all bullets are the same.

Even with 55FMJ you can see differences.

Counter intuitive pressure signs also, plated bullets generally produce lower pressures, about in the middle of cast and jacketed due to the thinner layer of copper. I've measured a bunch of these, all .224 on the dot, bearing surface is the same as a non cannelure, non BT 55gr. Only thing I can come up with is that they must obturate in the barrel with the pistol powder behind them. Rifle shooters wouldn't see it, as they'd be limited by velocity due to the plating failing at 223Rem speeds.

GONRA's very pleased with these 2 standard loads for the FsN Pistol.
(From what FN rifle owners seem say, these will be TOO HEAVY for the FN rifle.)
Load to OAL same as factory ammo. Winchester Small Rifle Primers.

36 grain Barnes Varmint Grenade bullets, True Blue Powder (6.3 grains MAX),

27 grain DHX bullets, True Blue Powder (6.7 grains MAX) per John 743 loading info.
