R&R Weapon Systems 5.7x28 ammo

Post by ChalupaCabras » 14 Oct 2014, 05:01

I was browsing 5.7 ammo on Gun Broker, and saw listings for ammunition produced by a company called 'R&R Weapon Systems'.

They have 0 feedback, and searches on Google and this forum turned up nothing, so I don't have any info on them.

I E-mailed the seller through GB, and promptly recieved a polite and professional E-Mail from the seller with links to their website and verious social media pages. He says they are new, and just haven't done a lot of buisness yet...

They seem legit to me, but I'm very hesitant to be the first one to jump. Does anyone here have experience with them, or know who these guys are?

*Edit* I'm not a bot, spammer, or affiliated with these guys in any way - look at my profile, and you will see I've been registered here for 3 years.

Let's just say that this is a company that it's probably be best to stay away from. IMHO of course.

Tried to do a basic search but the damn ATF website does not make it easy to look up an FFL by their name.

Funny how they have copied my rounds. Just went with bullets they could get.

Soon my in house brass will be flowing and all of this will be mute.

Fun factoid though, currently all EA ammo NIB, not conversion, is being loaded on 100% virgin brass that has NEVER had a bullet in it or anything else.

Dang Jay, you always have too much fun with that tease of your brass. Out with it I say. Lets have some play time with your rounds. :p

Hey the more people manufacturing the 5.7x28mm the better it brings the demand down and there for the price as well!!! I just hope someone will give it a try and see how they are.

Yes & no. The person to whom they are referring has proven to be a liar & a cheat in the past.
I am not saying this R&R company is being run by, or is affiliated with, the same person.

Some of the posts are merely pointing out that there are some similarities which warrant caution/investigation.

If R&R is not affiliated with that person, then I wish them the best.
If they are, I hope they sever any/all connections with him ASAP before it bites them in keister too.

The owner's name is Ryan Doll. I mean totally possible it's an alias but I doubt it.

cups are just that. Small cup like units that are feed into a press and
over a series of stampings are extruded into shell cases.

I have never given much thought to how a shell casing is actually formed, other than thinking that they are all extruded and formed as a single piece.

Thanks. :thumb:

Check this out. The cup and extrusion process is the same for cartridges cases and bullet jackets.

Thanks again, Jay. I'd be embarrassed to admit to the number of cases that I have reloaded with only a passing thought to how they are made!

Hello everyone. My name is Ryan Richard Doll, owner of RRWS, and I figured I would chime in on this whole situation of my first name being negatively associated with someone else. I have never heard of a "Ryan H" nor is RRWS associated with anyone else besides myself and my business partner Robert (hence R&R).

Do I need to be concerned about this other person?

I doubt you need to worry about him but some of us wanted to make sure it wasn't him before considering the purchase of any ammo. Your geographical location is close enough to his to warrant a bit of concern that it might have been the same person.

The "other Ryan" being referred to in this thread used to be associated with this forum and EA; saying that the separation was a "bad split" is quite the understatement.

Just a quick comment here on RRWS.
I just purchased 2 boxes of their IS132D.
It showed out of stock on their website and I contacted them by Face Book.
Immediate response and friendly advice and guidance.
Promised shipping tomorrow and I would expect from our conversation that I will not be disappointed.
So far I am well satisfied.

I also have had conversations with Ryan and purchased a box of the IS130D ammo.

He also threw in 3 other sample rounds of his other 5.7 ammo (IS129D, IS132D and IS144D) to try but have not as yet had a chance to shoot any of it. That will be remedied this Saturday!

Ryan tells me the 130D has a very similar load to the SS190 with a 30gr. projectile but has a fragmenting tip instead of the steel tip due to legal reasons. A few of the sample rounds sent to me looked to be a pretty mean looking hollow points. All were moly coated.

Very pleased with him and the customer service.

Just a heads up to my fellow FsN forum members. R&R is currently taking orders for their IS130D 5.7x28 ammo which Ryan tells me will be ready for shipping on 2/16 and that it is going fast.

For a 10% discount use " BUFFMAN". No, I don't know the connection if any. :)

Just received my 5 Boxes of R&R today. I purchased 1 - 20 round box of each. I hope to test them this week and will purchase more for carry ammo only. Ryan was great do deal with.
