Hmm. I wonder what it's supposed to shoot like?

None just a proto that turned up in a de mill contract.
Also Fiocchi is loading the 28gr 195 bullet in the USA now. Need to dissect the bullet to see if it's still made over seas or here now.
Also may be loading up some HK 4.6 with a caliber adjusted T6 bullet. I just came into a bunch of virgin brass.

These are from a de mill contract. Not safe to shoot. The gold one looked to have 4.3gr of TB behind it.

Re: Factory Prototype Round
Three more prototypes found. These where all loaded by Fiocchi .
The one in the center is very interesting. It has a 33gr bullet with a steel core that is 3x greater attracted to my magnetic dishes then the SS190.
Also have come across 40gr Blue tips loaded into Belgium SS192 brass.

Re: Factory Prototype Round
Maybe I am missing something, but what makes these bullets " Not safe to shoot"? Couldn't they just be reloaded using comparable loads from ones with equal weights, starting low and working back up?

Interesting. Prototypes from the initial development, or, newer?

Based on the brass some of these are very old and some are very new like the SS195 loaded on IS made brass. Basically I have a really big scrap bucket of misc. 5.7x28 rounds from what looks like 10 years of production and prototyping.

Re: Factory Prototype Round
You'd think it wouldnt take 10 years to figure out that that stubby 33gr bullet is gonna suck... 4.3gr of TB wouldn't get it moving particularly fast either. They really got things right with that 28gr SS195 bullet in the end though didnt they?
Re: Factory Prototype Round
Agreed....The 28gr is extremely versatile and can be pushed to astonishing velocities.
Re: Factory Prototype Round
The 28gr OTM could use improvements, most specifically, a cannelure.
