PS90 Loose Muzzle Device
PS90 Loose Muzzle Device
I have a PS90 SBR. Lately I noticed the muzzle device, in this case an A2 style flash hider, was loose. I can easily unscrew it with my hand so it does work it's way loose during firing.
When I contacted the manufacturer of the SBR, he mentioned that the manual says to torque down the muzzle device to 30 ft./lbs. I re-read the PS90 manual very carefully and could find no such mention.
Does anyone know if 30 ft./lbs. is the correct torque setting? Should it even be torqued at all beyond hand tight?

Re: PS90 Loose Muzzle Device
My concern is that he P90/PS90 barrel is SUPPOSED to have play in it.
Who did the work cutting the barrel and/or who supplied the barrel?

It was TROS; however, the barrel does have play... it's the flash hider that I can unscrew with my hand. Are you supposed to torque down a PS90 flash hider? If so, is 30 ft./lbs. is the correct torque setting?

Re: PS90 Loose Muzzle Device
I just wanted to make sure it was not the barrel. YES 30 pounds will work. I would put BLUE loctite on it. That way it will still come off WHEN you want it but not before.
Re: PS90 Loose Muzzle Device
I have your standard torque wrench with a 3/4" socket, but the socket doesn't fit all the way over the flash hider to reach the nut. Is there a special socket one uses, or an alternative method of reaching 30 ft./lbs. I'm not aware of?

Would a deep socket work? I haven't tried it, just asking... Or you could use a crows foot wrench, kind of like these
