Trigger Solutions

Post by gr8ful » 16 Jan 2016, 17:12

I'm considering a PS90. I sure wish I could have a P90 but that's not going to happen. What makes me hesitant to pull the trigger on a PS90 is "the trigger," the factory trigger and the fact that FN has not updated the design in more than 25 years.

I was wondering what people have experienced trying to get a far crisper trigger and making the PS90 as accurate as possible.

There appears to be a few solutions and I am wondering how combining them might work or not.

!. There is the carved aluminum after market trigger (for lack of a better word at the moment) that appears to reduce some of the squish and creep and appears to reduce trigger pull by a pound or a pound and a half.

2. here are replacement trigger group parts made from aluminum that mimic the dimensions of the Generation I and Generation II trigger packs that appear to increase the lock up of the action. I don't know what the real benefits are.

3. And there is an aftermarket spring that reduces the tension in a way that reduces trigger pull from approximately 6 pounds and 10 ounces to four pounds. The manufacturer claims that anything lighter than his spring results in reliability issues. Moreover, once the stiffer factory has been removed re-installing that stiff factory spring is about impossible.

QUESTIONS:

Has anybody tried using a combination of these fixes to make the PS90 trigger crisper and lighter?

How light have people gone? Trigger pull weight?

Has anyone tried these solutions singly or in combination?

What are your experiences and your recommendations?

Please let me know if there are other solutions in addition to these basic three.

I am not looking for a hair trigger. No, not at all. I want reliability, safety and accuracy.

Thank you in advance for your contributions.

I use the shortened pull hammer and it's working great:

I am still testing the hammer. We obviously already carry some of his products and Have been wanting to add more BUT since I did not design or manufacture it I insist on testing the hell out of it.

Currently we have a MK hammer in our shop PS90. About 4k on the hammer so far.

Up to this point there have been no issues and I would have them up on our site right now but have been behind due to our brass project.
Look to us having his hammers up on our site in about a month.
