Has anybody had any luck using an EOTech on a non-Tri-Rail PS-90? It seems like all of the rails (CCMG) start at $200 and I think they may be too high.
Any suggestions?

Re: EOTech mount on PS-90
Before I picked up my PS90TR I had the FN rail mount (probably the highest of any offered) on the PS90Std with an EOTech. It worked fine in CQB drills with a "chin-weld" (rather than a cheek-weld) and with the butt closer to centerline than shouldered.
Personally, I think the quest for low-low sights on the PS90 is overemphasized and can be counter-productive. It's a PDW, not a reach-way-out-and-touch-em-hard platform.
Or were you referring to "too high" as in price?

Re: EOTech mount on PS-90
The profile seemed too high. I don't mind paying the money for good parts. I decided to order an REM3 and keep my EOTech for my next AR build. The REM3 will do everything that I was looking for w/o raising the sight plane. (Plus it's way less expensive than an aftermarket optic!)
Thanks

I remember a forum member here named tomac. He recommended a tros mount with an aimpoint. that combination offers the lowest profile I have seen on a ps90. I generally want to mount an optic as low as possible. The eotech just seems way too high.

There's a lot of personal preference involved in choosing an optic for your PS90. I've tried a few (Eotech, Russian PK-AS, Aimpoints, etc) and for me cheekweld is important. The Eotech on a typical aftermarket rail was usable but as previously mentioned reduced cheekweld to chinweld and greatly increased optic height-over-bore (which may or may not be important to you). For the lowest decent mount w/best cheekweld then the TROS ultralow Aimpoint mount (also for the compact ACOG & Trijicon TriPower) is your best bet, IMHO. HTH...

Re: EOTech mount on PS-90
The TROS ultralow mounts are very nice, but you lose the ability to mount any other accessories on the top (like a magnifier). That's why I used magparts extended top rail - I could get my EoTech and a magnifier onto one rail.
Cheekweld is important on an iron sighted weapon, but less so with an optical sight. IMHO, what's more important is a consistent view through the sight, whether cheek or chin. I tend to bring the PS90 up perpendicular to my torso (held more 90 degrees away to the front from my body), rather than a more traditional offhand rifle hold where the rife is bladed across the chest to the left side. It's faster because where you swivel your chest is also where you look, and the PS90 points. Both eyes open, sights up looking through and past the sight to the target, chest (and trauma plate) pointed to the front, not side.
