*** Nick's Guns & Range is now GA Firing Line (change in ownership, same location) ***

Johns Mountain WMA (Chestnut Mountain Shooting Range) (Floyd County / Rome, GA)
- good place to shoot up to 100 yards, only costs $5 per visit or $20 per YEAR, figure it's worth mentioning as many people ask were they can do so anyways, as well as being able to shoot FsN and PS-90. On weekends it's really busy, so you might have to wait for a lane to open up. Range Days and Hours: May 1-August 31: 9 am-8 pm - September 1-April 30: 9 am-5 pm, Sunday: Closed

Adairsville Sporting Range (Adairsville, GA)
- FsN and PS-90 are ok (just dont shoot the spinners on the ground that he has out for people shooting .22lr). The bad part, though, is the target carries are REALLY, so silhouettes drang on the ground. Both pistol (25 yards) and rifle (100 yards) ranges, as well as a skeet range on site. Range Days and Hours: Monday - Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm, Sunday: Closed

I was there this morning, and they were knowledgeable of the FiveSeven, had ammo in stock, and helpful all around. Great range.

After reading these posts, I feel lucky I live a few miles from the Scottsdale Gun Club. Thirty-two air conditioned lanes open to the public 7 days a week. Great staff and you can rent any type of weapon to shoot-many types of machine guns included. When any of you guys or gals are in Scottsdale, you should stop by and give them a look. Members get free machine gun rentals on their birthday. :)

You can add Jackson Arms, South San Francisco, CA. They have an indoor rifle range for FSN or AR-15s.

Marion County Fish and Game, Indianapolis, Indiana http://www.indyrange.org/

5.7x28 has been accepted as a "pistol" caliber. MCF&G allows the use of rifles that fire "pistol" caliber rounds. No auto fire.

This facility functions as a club, so aside from specific events membership is required. Members may bring guests.

Eagle Peak in Austin, TX / Cedar Park allows the FsN with anything other than FMJ.

Fromt them:
Yes, 5.7 x 28mm handguns may be shot on the pistol range, provided that the ammunition is something other than full metal jacket (FMJ) - hollow point, soft point, ballistic tip, etc.

Article II Gun World Range- Lombard, IL.
Allows any round up to .460 weatherby. No steel core, armor piercing, incendiary blah blah blah. But the guy was actually smart enough to ask which round I was using when I asked if I could shoot my fsn. Had a nice evening of shooting 197 with my fiance. Their range is NEW and very well maintained, lit and ventilated. Only 75ft but its only 15min from my house so it will work. Range fees were pretty high... BUT I GET TO SHOOT MY FsN more than 3 TIMES A YEAR NOW!!! :D

nrv216

edit: Forgot, their price for a box of ss197... $28.95 :lmao: :wall: Needless to say I will be restocking my shelves next time I go to cabelas.

This is BluCore in the Denver Metro. http://www.blucoreshootingcenter.com/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I just bought my gun a couple of days ago and shot it for the first time here the other day with a co-worker that had a gift card. It was actually my first time going to this range as well; pleasant experience and friendly staff. As a bonus, it seems the guys that own it are former Military as well.

I am also a member of the Colorado Rifle Club and you're allowed to shoot the 5.7 there too. If you're in the Denver area, you need to have a membership, but it's a bit of a trek out to the Club; it's located in Byers, CO.

Per their website:

The BluCore Shooting Center is owned and operated by former members of Americas most elite combat forces. All BluCore Team members are combat proven veterans from military SPEC-OPS backgrounds. Specifically, Navy SEALs, Navy EOD and other Special Operations forces.

Finally, an indoor range in central VA that not only allows you to shoot a Five-seveN, but they also rent them for $15 per hour. You can bring your own ammo or buy theirs (I wanna say they wanted $30 a box for the ss197).

It's a brand new facility with 32 25-yd ranges, a full service gunsmith on site, gun and ammo sales and apparel. My cousin and I went last week and it is a top notch place. The staff is on the young side, so their expertise may be questionable. They are friendly, though. If I lived 20 miles closer I'd definitely consider a membership. I will visit from time to time to shoot the fn.

Lobo, the place is nice and shiny new, but be prepared to have to sit through a 15-20 minute safety video (we even got quizzed afterwards, kinda lame) and they weren't really prepared for the opening week crowds as it ended up taking us almost 45 minutes to get registered, watch the vid and get quizzed before being allowed onto the range.

Just a heads-up so you can plan accordingly. Be prepared to possibly spend an extra hour prior to shooting. As of last week the gun cleaning service was still not open and I'd say 1/2 of the store shelves were still empty, but the gun cases were relatively full even though their prices are on the steep side. Plenty of different guns available to rent and paper targets run from 75 cents for small ones to $1.25 for large silhouettes. We didn't really look into ammo prices because we brought our own.

I think I'm going back this week to shoot my Five-seveN again and my Kel Tec Sub2000.

well, I'll keep that in mind, it's more of a "I can't wait to get home to shoot" thing.......or I might have to show off the 5.7 (not sure if I will take her by air, don't want those nasty TSA guys touching her :lmao: )

so for me, it would be renting....but still thanks for the heads up on it....

Florida:

Hey tparty, here's another one in florida, great range! run by the Wakulla County Sheriffs Office & qualified volunteers:

65 Qualify Lane, Crawfordville, FL 32327 (Fhpa Range)

So anyone in Tallahassee looking for a great outdoor range, and is willing to drive a bit for a great range day, they have: a steel plate range, a 400 yd rifle range, paper target range, etc.

Please add TargetMaster in Garland, TX to the list.

Was there yesterday, with two of my daughters. Great way to spend Father's Day. This was actually the first time I have had to shoot the new toy, and WOW! Everything you guys have said is true. This is my new carry gun.

First few shots were a bit low (three dot sights), but quickly adjusted. Shot 100 rounds of SS195, then two mags of red tip Protector. May have been my imagination, but the EA rounds seemed both hotter and more accurate.

Looking forward to having more fun with this sucker. Thanks.

does anyone know if field time target & training in stanton ca is fsn friendly?
their website says the following so i think we should be ok

PROHIBITED AMMUNITION
Wolf, Bear, Tula, Bi-Metal, Frangible, Steel Case and Steel Core ammunition
of ANY caliber is strictly PROHIBITED at the range.
Shotguns must use slugs only. No buck or bird shot allowed.
As a general rule, Muzzle Energy over 4000 Ft Lbs will not be permitted at the range.

You should really call & ask. A lot of people are victims of misinformation about the FiveseveN. Some think it is a 22 magnum & some think it is a WMD that fits in your pocket. Oh wait, that quote was "an assault rifle that fits in your pocket" wasn't it? Either way, I suggest calling first.

Nashville Armory. 25 yard indoor range, all rifle and pistol calibers allowed (although rifle calibers must be used in the rifle half of the range). They've got a FsN USG and a PS90 in their rental inventory. Not the cheapest range ($20/hour) but within reason you can shoot whatever you want at whatever rate of fire you feel like. They also have a few full auto NFA weapons for range rental, although $65/hour not including ammo makes for some expensive rock'n'rolling. I'm beginning to spend way too much time/money there :P

The "Ready Line" range in the Cincinnati, Oh area is very 5.7 friendly. The range has 25 and 100 yard indoor lanes and is very new, well kept, with a very knowledgeable, friendly staff. Something a little different...they will rent you a fully auto p90 and provide ammunition @45.00 per magazine. They also rent other fully auto weapons, also by the magazine.

I'm new to these here forums but I saw that MrSlippyFist posted something about Kingsburg Gun Club. I used to work there, back in the day. The club is primarily used for shotgun use, as an overhead view would show... See this link to google maps.. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kings ... dc1a393f09" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I do know that there were occasions where a couple of individuals were allowed to come shoot in 1 particular spot with, if I remember right, a 300 win mag, for zeroing.. thus not putting a terrible amount of ammo down range, I think he went through a whole 10 rounds... as far as much more then that, the place isn't really designed for anything but shooting clays with 12 & 20 ga shotguns.

From my recent trip to San Antonio, TX:

Friendly AND highly-recommended:

http://www.lonestarhandgun.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is an outdoor range with steel target and they had no objections to shooting the FiveseveN on their steel but they were a little bit nervous (backsplatter) when they saw the painted tips on the ammo. Great place to shoot, highly recommended.

Semi-friendly BUT not recommended:

http://aplacetoshoot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They will let you shoot the FiveseveN on the rifle range but not on the pistol range. My opinion is they do not like this handgun since the rangemaster basically told me this is a cop-killer handgun that shoots cop-killer bullets. So if you don't mind the stupid attitude, the hostile treatment, and the disrespect to law-abiding owners....but I won't be returning to A Place To Shoot since I don't care to feel like I am talking to or being watched by Bloomberg or Feinstein when I am shooting.

I have at least one update for FiveseveN friendly range, and ammo loactions, not sure where else to put ammo locations.

Tennessee Gun Country in Clarksville Tn, has an indoor range, I been emailing them, and they welcome 5.7 shooters. I think just about all the ranges in this area do. I know the Montgomery County shooting complex does.

Tennessee Gun Country also has some 5.7 ammo, he only relied with the FN ammo, so not sure yet what kind. Big Irons off Tiny Town Rd, had a bit of the ss198lf last I went in. But the two best places to go, are to Hopkinsville, Ky to Constitutional off of 41a/ Fort Campbell Blvd. The owner and one of the sales clerks both own a FsN and they keep the ammo fully stocked, they carry both the AE and 197SR. If they don't have it for some odd reason, head to Bass Pro down in Nashville, and they have it for 2 dollars cheaper, but it is a 45 minute drive away from me, so not worth it unless I am already going to be there for something else.

Rhode Island: Sakonnet River Outfitters, has a range that allows 5.7 and PS90

Athena gun club in Houston. Very professional and have 25 yard indoor for rifles and pistols. 5.7 or 5.56 no problem.

Beware, if you pick up your brass bring gloves. They're anal that way.

etc., etc., etc.

Perhaps these are the places that we should try to patronize with our hard-earned $$. Enjoy!
Newby here, and am curious about this thread, and have a question: Why would a range not be FN 5.7 friendly? :ponder:

There's been a LOT of hype & false information put out about the FsN.
While it is true that it CAN fire armor piercing ammo, that ammo is also not readily available to Joe Citizen - but no one mentions that part... :ponder:
Some places have speed limits on ammo, you can't fire anything over a certain fps due to damage to their backstop. A lot of those people have been incorrectly told that the FsN shoots faster than that & refuse to listen when we try to dispel the rumors.

That attitude is not as common now that more people are using the FsN & there is more information out but a few years ago, it was a pain finding places that would allow it.

There are no issues anywhere in Las Vegas that I know of. I shoot on the regular at either 702 Range or American Shooters, just because I know most of the staff at both locations. I have yet to be told I was not allowed to fire any of my different types of 5.7 yet, short of the 190.

Shooter's Paradise- Port Charlotte, FL

They even allow rifles to be shot in their indoor handgun range. Had a guy come in and shoot .223 and a .308 while I was there shooting with friends.

I will be going to Delta Arsenal in Wallingford, CT. on this Saturday to shoot in their indoor range.

http://www.deltaarsenal.com/gun-range" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am going to assume they will allow the FsN because they allow AR's and rent machine guns. I will update this post with my findings.

ETA: Update: Delta Arsenal does allow the 5.7x28.

My range disallows all bottleneck pistol rounds at the pistol portion. They have all sorts of motorized target stands, berms aren't heavy enough to stop some of those monster single shot rifle/pistol things, so they just lumped everything together. That also means no 25NAA...

Sensibly Armed in Mount Penn PA is five seven friendly but only if you shoot the AE TMJ or SS197SR. I had some loose SS198LF in a SS195LF BOX and they wouldn't let me shoot it because it's obviously too fast ( only up to 2000fps allowed) And they wanted to see the box to check. I talked to the owner about which rounds I use and the ones I keep at home/outside shooting and he says reloads are fine also as long as it stays under 2000. Certain employees come up and ask what ammo I'm using but I tell them I clear it with the owner before I even step into the range.

I was looking for a range that had the FiveseveN as a rental and found this one range in Poway, CA: Poway's Weapons and Gear's Indoor Range: http://weaponsandgearrange.com/firearm_rentals.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I'm hoping to rent the FiveseveN soon to get a feel of its performance.

Elite Shooting sports in Prince William County, VA just off 66 has been a great place to shoot. I've shot both my FiveseveN and PS90 there without any question.

In Texas, rarely (in my case never) do they check the ammo. They point my to a lane & fire away.

Hoover Tactical in Birmingham, Alabama. 5.7 ok on pistol range. All indoor, they have a good selection of rentals available including the 5.7. Also sell ammo and targets, sell weapons and supplies. Have a separate rifle range also indoor.

They will let you shoot 5.7 from the pistol. Didn’t ask about the P90 though... Just got back from putting a few hundred rounds through my new FiveSeven.
