Pure Kustom Holsters

Post by Bazzer69 » 18 Apr 2015, 21:35

I just purchased a new holster from http://www.purekustomholsters.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Mine is the Big Dog Model for the FN 5.7
I'm a fan of all leather holsters and Pure Kustom was the only company I could find who make one. Mine was ex stock, so no long waiting period. My previous carry holster was from Milt Sparks and I have been very happy with that for my 9mm. I checked with them and they don't make one for the 5.7.
The Big Dog, is as it says, BIG! But it is a IWB holster that can be easily converted to a OWB if that is what you like. I prefer IWB. It can also be used with a shirt tucked in, which is also a requirement of mine. It is made from quality cowhide, black in my case and although stiff, is pre-bent to fit around your waist at a four to five o'clock position. The supplied leather belt straps are made for a 1.5 inch belt. Although it's stiff and tight I am slowly breaking it in by wearing it as much as possible . The straps have a six adjustment attachment bolts that give you a wide range of adjustment . The 5.7 is a large pistol for concealed carry, but I'm liking this holster very much. It's very comfortable and affords my pistol good retention. Of course with the 5.7 being a full sized pistol there is some printing depending on the clothing being worn. But for me this is minimal and not a problem. It's not cheap, but it's American made and of high quality. I would throughly recommend it if you want IWB carry and comfort.
Cheers

Thanks for the review, would you be willing to post a couple of pictures of the holster?

I would post some pictures, but it's not easy and you also need a photo sharing site. Sorry but to much work for me at the moment. There are plenty on Purekustomholsters.com

It's not difficult but I understand time consuming. How to is linked in my sig line if you missed it.

I don't really trust company pictures, I've seen plenty of misleading pics from companies. Photoshopped defects & enhancements, special lighting, etc.
People on forums usually have nothing to hide & so post true "as-is" pics & so those are more trustworthy IMHO.

It is what it is, most forums just let you browse to a photo on your computer and insert it to the post. Resizing is automatic

Large pistol to carry?? Really? I carry mine quite a bit concealed and find it very comfortable. It feels like wearing nothing compared to carrying my full size Kimber Warrior.

I purchased a leather OWB holster custom made for my FsN on Ebay from a custom leather maker for $42.00 that fits perfectly.

Here are several leather holsters by the same maker:

This one is from a different maker:

Here are a few more for the FsN:

Here is a Black Carbon Fiber Kydex holster which I may just buy:

"Large" is subjective, maybe to Bazzer it is large. To me it's not large & I really like how light it is compared to my 10mm.
But it is a full size gun which is too big for some people to comfortably carry concealed.
