Re: Fighting with Paypal
WTF? It's THAT strict?
Does that mean you can't pay for rifle scopes or anything else on paypal?
What a crock.

Re: Fighting with Paypal
Well, I guess if they strictly follow the letter of their policy:
I GUESS I could choke someone with it. I mean, if I went on a shooting spree I wouldn't want to lug the rifle around, so the sling DOES sort of enable me by making sure I'm a bit more comfortable when I get to the top of the clock tower.
I think I'm going to end my account with them.
Firearm "parts or accessories" must mean that the sling I bought yesterday on ebay and paid for with paypal was a no-no.certain firearms, firearm parts or accessories, ammunition, weapons or knives

edit: btw the oxidizer sale ends Sunday.

Re: Fighting with Paypal
Damn, they actually pay people to investigate freaking LED lights? Its so unbelievable that they have little monkeys whose job it seize every opportunity to lose themselves business for absolutely no legal reason.
Technically speaking, brass isn't a firearm part or accessory nor is it ammunition... but I bet that wouldnt stop them from canceling my account either :ponder: I hate having to constantly worry about what clients write under order descriptions :wall:
Has anyone found a good alternative?

I was hoping GearPay would be a good alternative to PayPal. What did they do to get the distinguished title of A-holes?

Re: Fighting with Paypal
I'm going with 2checkout.com. They are twice as expensive as Paypal but what else can I do? They charge 5.5% of transaction plus .45 cents per transaction.
I do like the ease of set up and navagation!
http://www.2checkout.com/community/about" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Unfortunately they do have restrictions ( but my LED is OK )
NO Firearms, Ammunition, High Capacity Magazines, Tasers, Stun Guns, Air Guns, Paint Guns, Weapons, Swords and Knives
I WISH I KNEW ABOUT GUNPAL BEFOR I SIGNED UP FOR THIS. :wall:
I SHOULD BE BACK UP AND RUNNING THIS WEEKEND
AND MY PARTS ARE ON THEIR WAY! :monkey:

Re: Fighting with Paypal
GunPal appears to be in beta testing still, correct? You apparently need 100 posts at calguns to sign up.

Yep. I just checked and they are still in testing. No loss for me then. :thumb:

Gunpal looks interesting, I can't wait for it to go public so I can dump paypal.

The way they treated me when I contacted them. It was the "we are the only ones doing so kiss our ass and pay our insane fees" So I told them to get stuffed.gw45acp wrote:I was hoping GearPay would be a good alternative to PayPal. What did they do to get the distinguished title of A-holes?

That's too bad, but a-holes can get stuffed as you told them. I read GearPay's T&C section and they don't allow any payment to anti-gun organizations or groups. On the surface that sounds great, but why should anyone, including PayPal and GearPay, tell me how I'm allowed to spend my money?panzermk2 wrote:The way they treated me when I contacted them. My wife sells a lot of collectibles and antiques on eBay so she's stuck with the PayPal policies since they are the only game in town in the eBay world. She just sold a couple of holsters on there so I hope that doesn't come back and bite her.

Re: Fighting with Paypal
I wonder how long banks -- many of which have been "bailed out" and owe their existence to the gubmint -- will take to enact "socially responsible" policies restricting how you spend and what you spend your money on. Will you have to look for a "gun friendly" checking account one day? Might sound far fetched, but then a lot of what is going on today would have seemed like total fiction ten or twenty years ago.gw45acp wrote:That's too bad, but a-holes can get stuffed as you told them. Re: Fighting with Paypal
Well, it looks like Gunpal went full public last night at midnight   :thumb: and I signed up this morning without a single hitch and with no additional requirements.
Their fees aren't too bad either (compared to Paypal ect)
GUNPAL Fees to Recieve money
Sellers pay a small transaction fee as below:
Fees for payments received vary based on the transaction amount and volume:
For Transactions greater than $10 (Ten Dollars):
2.8% + $0.30 for all transactions
For Transactions under $10 (Ten Dollars):
4.8% + $.30 for all transactions
Now I just need to buy another gun so I have a reason to use it!!! :guns: :guns: :guns:
Do you various sponsors think you guys will get into this?

Re: Fighting with Paypal
Here we go again. :wall: :suicide:
2checkout doesn't like my LED either. I called them and said this WAS NOT a firearm but they said they have discretion to allow or prohibit what they want.
I'll look into expanding my gunpal acct. I wonder what Centerfiresystems uses as a payment hub?
HELP! Can anyone out there tell me of a good Credit Card website?

Re: Fighting with Paypal
What we had to do was get our own machine, and manually run each card. This wasn't a problem as we already had the machine for store sales, but can be an inconvenience at night coming home and processing all the net sales. Most of the online credit card processors WILL NOT allow you to sell guns or gun parts over the internet. I don't know why this is other than some lawyer somewhere told them they could somehow be held liable if some clown buys a gun and goes on a shooting spree.
We got our terminal from North American Bankcard. I guess they are no different than the rest. Watch the hidden fees. You can negotiate some of that crap when you set up your account, especially if you think you'll be doing alot of business.
Good luck. I'm still waiting for my 180 day probation period to end on paypal to withdraw the money that was already in my account when they banned ours.

Re: Fighting with Paypal
Well... I applied and was NOT approved by 3 companies so.... :wall:
for now I'm back using Paypal standard. At least you can chose to pay by Credit Card.
I'll just keep a low profile. :p
I did sign up with Gunpal and will have their Pay button soon.
I have plenty of stock of both the REM T3 and the T3b. :thumb:
