Re: What are you reading now?

Amazon teased me with a 3 book package of "John Milton" books by a guy named Mark Dawson. Review said that Milton was the next Mitch Rapp. I'm halfway through the first. Not too bad, but I find it pretty easy to put down when I get tired. I stayed up all night for many a Mitch Rapp adventure.

Re: PS90 cleaning frequency?

I'm not sure it needs it, but it is so easy to run a bore snake through it and wipe down the bolt, that I do it every time I shoot it.

That is pretty awesome, but with wood, it will be over the top.

Re: Power Banks

I was at a presentation by Elon Musk's team that is building the new battery gigafactory in Northern Nevada. Pretty impressive stuff that I could talk about for a while, but I will try and stay on topic here. He is spending $5 billion to manufacture the Panasonic 18650 cell, and use it to make large...

Re: Hello

I have the original white ring sight. I would consider only fair, until the REM T3 is added, then it becomes awesome. I have seen them for sale at $400. That shocks me. They may be decent, but I know I could do better for $400.

Re: Hello

dmachine, welcome. You won't have to look far here to find a lot of other PS90 nuts. Everyone has their own idea about the best setup, which is the way it is supposed to be. You will find lots to read on old threads, but a couple of things seem to come back to basics. Use the FN mags and you won't r...

Re: What are you reading now?

OK, fly, book 4 is behind me now. Enough brain candy for a while. I think I will go read a little about what Bogle's thoughts on the federal reserve are.

Re: Completely unrelated

I went skydiving once, back in the days before tandem jumps. They put me through about 4 hours of training on the ground. I recall that most of the training started with, "this will never happen, but...." I stepped out of the plane at 3,500', on a static line, arched, counted to 5 elephant, looked u...

Re: What are you reading now?

Last week I picked up Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms". Read it cover to cover on Sunday. Felt like I was back in college and a book report was due in the morning. Good book, fascinating writing style. Started off almost like a stream of consciousness thing, then got more grounded as the book went o...

Re: Elite Ammunition being Scalped on Gunbroker

For decades, Ferrari built $100,000 cars, then watched them hit the resale auction for $1,000,000 a couple years later. Then they figured it out and started selling them for $1,000,000+. It seems to be working. Not that I hope that is the future of EA ammo. When Jay is able to make the supply curve ...

Re: How deadly is the 5.7 in real life,or death

Double J, you are addressing separate issues. First, how deadly is the round? True, it may not have as much FBI data as other calibers, but it looks like there are enough instances to qualify it as deadly enough. Second, reliability. It doesn't matter how deadly a round is, if you are not confident ...

Re: Detonics 451 Magnum

Resurrecting a zombie post. That 451 and I spent a lot of time at the range with both 45ACP and a few different recipes of 451 Magnum ammo. I found a source of brass and picked up 900 pieces and had a good time attracting attention at the range. Put 11 grains of Unique behind a 200 grain bullet and ...

Re: Which to buy USG or MKII

I'd think a USG would be $1,000 at best. I can say that pretty honestly since I have a LNIB USG that has been posted on this site for months for $1,000 and have received no interest. Why would a forum member here pay $1,200?

Re: 2015 SHOT show

Too overwhelming to describe. The industry is doing well. I didn't even make it to the FN booth, yet. Rock Island must have had close to 100 models on display, including a new 22mag 1911, several 6" 1911's, including a very cool 10mm, and Glock uppers to make a Glock into a 22TCM. Scads of very cool...
