Re: Gold Dot 5.7x28mm
Yep launched at SHOT 2020. I had multiple contacts promise up and down Speer would send samples by May 2020. That came and went, and my contacts were told by Speer that it was being delayed. Around August/Sept multiple reports of the ammo showing up at dealers. Can't get a confirmation from Speer th...

Also note that all 2018 and newer SS198LF have a cannelure on the bullet. Not sure why unless they are using it for crimping, but it's well below the neck.

Speer 5.7x28mm and 22 Mag 40gr Gold Dot review
TL: DR This is the performance we should expect out of SS197SR, but yet they keep dialing it back. Fiocchi should really start mechanically crimping rounds. P90 feeding OK, PS90 not so. Could be gun, or could be the feed angle and bullet profile. Min velocity gain from 10" to 16". Consistent perform...

^^ hard to say. Shot placement with any round is key. My take away from it, is that SS197SR inside his body still destroyed quite a bit of stuff. Had that been a "glorified" 22 magnum, would the tissue destruction been the same?

I have the Dev's on hand, just need to get $$$ for a gel block for testing. IMO the best penetrating to wounding potential ammo is T6b/Dev. SS190 may out penetrate it on PE style hard armor, but it is limited soft tissue penetration.

Without a civilian 4.6 gun in the US, tests are going to be hard to come by.. I can confirm smaller 4.5 rounds (17HMR) from a full length rifle barrel can penetrate soft armor. The question would be, with the restricted 4.6 ammo, how would it do.

This is VG's updated V57 prime. There is no denying that Jay's design in my opinion is a game changer for the 5.7x28mm platform. It's weight to length ratio, is keeping it at speeds designed for it to "act like a rifle bullet"

Re: Vanguard Outfitters Ammo
To my knowledge no. The V57 very closely resembles the T6/T6B. If you look at the black fang, you can see they've changed the design of the front most section. What else they changed, I won't know until I have samples for testing.

The V57 prime is the one I reviewed and what you saw online. Yes it's very close to the T6/B design. I am waiting on samples of the Black Fang.

Re: FNH 5.7 quit ejecting
The FSN has a little primer flow as pictured. His does look a little odd, but the FSN spent primers do not look like say a traditional spent 5.56 case.

Re: Handloads are mid-air tumbling
FNH must have their finger on the magic powder/bullet combo. According to their flier the SB193 is a 62gr fmj. It does not specify if its designed for use in only the PS90 or FSN. I myself seem to have no issues creating stable subs using 55gr fmj bullets. I haven't done very much testing with 62gr...

I was showing another person the types of 5.7 to be on the lookout for (ignore the ELP crap on the page) and I got to page 4 and was like :OOOOOO I bought the last one he had.

Re: Elite Ammunition T6B Gel Test
Did you have a Misfire ~1.35? Seems like the FPS out of the pistol are Quite a bit slower than Advertised.... Like about 500 FPS lower It is also a little disappointing to see how far it went before creating a wound cavity. And then not fragmenting. Seems like its almost for exclusively for penetra...

Brand new CMMG barrel? What rounds are you firing? What adapter did you use to affix the barrel back into the receiver? Did you remember the spring in the receiver? How tight did you tighten the barrel?
