FiveSeveN failure to eject every first round
Very strange problem. I can load the mag to any number and the gun will fail to completely cycle the first round. Manually cycle the action and every other round fires as normal. Doesn't matter suppressed or unsuppressed. Doesnt matter how many rounds I load. Doesnt matter what magazine. First round...

Spring installed. I'll get her out to the range this week. I just used a set if needle nose pliers and got the nose in the space and expanded them. Simple. I also just locked the slide back with the gun to access the ring. Then I was just very careful when taking the gun apart.

There is no washer. It's just the pin + spring. If you are missing the spring, that needs to be replaced. Mine won't come out without taking the bolt apart.

The issue with 40grain V-max is not expansion. The ballistics tests I've seen have it clocked at 1700 fps. It does not fully expand, but it tumbles like a SOB and still generates more than lethal wound channels. It also makes adequate penetration depths. That's in standard blue box ammo.

Re: Help with powder choices for 55 FMJ
I might give the old 55 grainers a try. What was your starting point for N105? I've got some around. I want fast bullets.

That front sight actually looks pretty good. I just wish it was a night sight. I still think I'm going with the MRDS option too. The fiber optic sight just doesn't add much.

What's a good way to color 5.7 brass so you can find it easily at the range? Digging through brass at the range is a real pain.

Your ammunition is on another level than SS198. I have to load my own since EA ammunition is both rare and expensive. There is no 27 grain bullet available anymore as far as I know for reloading, so I make do with what I have. The 40 grain vmax has been the bullet I have had the most success with, o...

Failure to extract with lee factory crimp
So adding the Lee crimp to a few of my loads has resulted in them no longer extracting properly, if at all. It seems as though the gun short strokes. It does not cycle back far enough to eject the spent casing and chamber the next round. It still fires good and straight. The bullet is accurate and w...

So I know lots of us have tests and ladders run, but what is your favorite powder load with the 5.7 x 28 and why? I'm currently using 6.4 grains of VV 3N38 with Hornady 40 grain vmax and a light taper crimp. Nosler makes great bullets too, but they're 40 grain is more expensive than the Hornady and ...

AR57 functions just fine. I own both guns. The operation of the AR57 is extremely simple. It's blow back with the extractor in the 6 o'clock position over the mag well. Very little can go wrong with it if all parts are up to spec, which they usually are. Functions great with factory ammo. Reloading ...

Where is? I can't find any that have molle straps, save maybe a few in coyote tan that I hate. Even the air soft mag pouches seem to be few and far between. The FN brand thigh pouch is like $200, which is way too much. I can optics for that price. I need something I can attach to my carbine case.

Gonna try the new Nosler 35 grain Varmageddon Hollow Point. Way cheaper than the 35 grain ballistic tips. My favorite were the 30 grain Varmint Grenades, but those have also been discontinued. I really wish someone made 40 grain FMJ .224s. I'd buy them up in a heart beat.

I can't be convinced the Surefire pricetag is worth it. They cost almost twice as much as either of the other two. Even a Viridian X5L-R is less than $200. Surefire X400 is well over $400. I can almost get another FN pistol for that.

Preferred Laser/Light for the FiveSeveN
The Five-SeveN is one sexy looking hand gun. As such, I feel inclined to only put a laser/light on it that looks at least equally as sexy. I have a TLR-4 on my sub-compact 9mm, but that looks too small on the larger gun. I'm considering a TLR-2, but the Viridian X5L and Surefire X400 sure are sweet ...

Hard to see how much of a ring, slice a case open and check. But if you're getting separations is might be a really good idea to back off a little. Yeah, your neck dents don't look to be caused by the pistol, they're too rough, maybe the walls or the concrete floor.
