Re: Lehigh Defense "Controlled Chaos"

I have not tried them out of the PS90. I have several hundred loaded with 5.6 of true blue as that is what I carry in the FsN for self defense, but True Blue is not the best powder for the longer barrels. I can put together a ladder using HS6 or longshot for the PS90 and report back if you are not i...

Sportsman's guide has 16" uppers in stock. Has been quite a while since I have seen anything shorter than that in stock.

Re: Would these work for 5.7?

They appear to be of similar size and shape of the 35 gr. v-max. I have had mixed results with those shorter bullets. There should be some data in the reloading threads on the 35 gr. v-max, so that is where I would start. The shorter bullets tend to have more issues in the PS-90. I have run several ...

Re: 32 grain AP projectiles for the 5.7

There was a website that was selling them around a year or so ago. I believe they were around $130/500. I remember them being fairly reasonably priced, but did not pick any up at the time. The loaded SS190 ammo seems to sell for a premium, but remember the pulled bullets being pretty reasonable. If ...

Re: New PS90 Owner (ranging questions)

At 200 yards you will have a real hard time seeing the holes in the paper from the 5.7x28. Most people set their PS90's up to be more a personal defense weapon (what it was designed for), and most of them will use a 50 yard zero. Can it shoot 150-200? Sure, but the usefulness of this round is its ve...

Re: 40 gr. v-max

Once they reduced them from $13/100 to $10/100 they went pretty fast. They had them last about a year ago (although they were in 500 count boxes), so I suspect they will come back, but probably not real quick.

40 gr. v-max

Anyone who is loading a factory SS197 clone who is looking for some bullets should take a look at midway. I have just ordered what was listed as 40gr blemish bullets (item number 493346). They appear to be an over run of SS197 bullets with the blue polymer tips and everything. They are currently $10...

Re: True Blue

If anyone is looking for TrueBlue powder, Wideners has both the 1 pound and 4 pound containers in stock. They seem to have the best price I have seen online, but still have that pesky hazmat fee.

PS - Must have been a shipment recently as powder valley has it in stock as well.

Re: Failure to extract with lee factory crimp

No need to glue the bullets in. Velocities from hand loaded ammo can easily exceed that of factory ammo with a lot more consistency.

Any chance that you will be selling any more of the T6/T6B turned solids again? I bought a couple of boxes the last time you sold them, and I am down to the last box.

Saw that listed as the deal of the day the other day. I thought that it was a great deal, but did not really want to venture into starting with another hand gun caliber.

Re: Price for Brass

I sold a lot of it on this forum for $.06 a round. Apparently I was too low. Depends on when you sold it. With boxes of AE and SS197 selling for ~$15 a box now when on sale, the amount of people looking for the brass has dropped significantly, so has the price. Bought a batch on a auction site in t...

Re: Hornady

That is not one that I have used. It looks like it could be a little on the short side, and the "flat" tip could cause some feeding issues. The other difficulty I see is the flat base. It can be a little challenging getting flat base bullets to feed straight into the small case of the 5.7x28. If I h...

Re: New reloader

Pretty sure that they do not make the DHX bullets any more. The company seemed to transition more into a shooting range/club, and the bullet website went away. They were probably the closest to the SS195/198 bullet, but were quite a bit shorter. It was pretty easy to get the speed to match the SS198...

Re: New reloader

OK, I'm getting down to bullet decision. Should I go with the Sierra Blitzking Moly 40gr or the Vmax 40gr? The Sierra is pretty cheap in large quantity from PSA. I'm hoping this guy in Salt Lake City gets another dismantle contract and sells off all the pulled 27gr bullets. I passed on a bucket of ...

Re: HS6 or Longshot?

Never trust burn charts. EVER. That is why I come to the forum. Even though the info is older, it at least gives me an idea about what powders other people have had success with. The burn charts I looked at were the ones at the front of the reloading manuals. They did not do anything but list the p...

Re: HS6 or Longshot?

I was able to pick up a pound of each over the weekend. Was glad to see both powders are large enough to go through my chargemaster without an issue. Have about 400 brass prepared and primed, so going to do some loading this week to test next weekend with the chrono. The one thing that surprised me ...
