Re: Why do they call it 28mm

.224" (5.7mm) is NOT the bore size, its the nominal bullet diameter. In 22 centerfire nominal bore diameter will be .005"-.006" under bullet diameter depending on rifling geometry, .218"-.219".

Re: Inconsistent recoil, flash, and ejection

RCBS Lil' Dandy powder thrower and a custom drilled rotor or two are ideal for consistency and avoiding electronic scale/powder thrower issues on these small cases.

Re: Varmint Nightmare Bullets

The 34g 20 cal VNE is an excellent short range critter gitter in rifle calibers.

Only drawback to the 34g 22 cal in a 5.7 is you may have feeding issues due to the wide meplat,
otherwise the same as above excellent short range plinking/critter gitter.

Re: Failure to extract with lee factory crimp

For what a Savage rifle costs, they should shoot AK groups. I know everyone now has a cheap bolt gun that'll do sub minute groups, but Savage always has, at the expense of that barrel nut that makes everyone throw up of course. I find it hilarious that everybody and their 2nd cousin are copying all...

Re: Failure to extract with lee factory crimp

If its a 'semi-delayed' blowback, crimping will effect the 'semi' part, in a different way than glue/bond/tight neck tension.

Re: Excel Arms MP-5.7 Review

hind sight is 20/20 but it does pay to google the names of manufacturers or businesses and see what you come up with. i've been very fortunate to have never had a bad experience but there's a lot of information out there available at the click of a button. Since Google took over the world (i.e., wh...

Re: EXCEL ARMS

You have previous experience with them? Can I ask what your issue was? Did they resolve to your satisfaction? Thanks Casting defect, rear rail screw post, only has 3/4 threads, so it keeps coming loose, feed/ejection is horrible, they won't answer phone, return calls, or answer email. I'm seriously...

Re: News on new pistol variant?

You got a hand picked thoroughly QC'ed unit due to your position in the marketplace. I'm Joe Schmoe I got one thru normal channels. Biggest QC issue is a frame casting defect, the rear tower for the rear slide screw is missing about 1/2 of its material around the screw threads (casting flow/void), t...

Re: News on new pistol variant?

I consider mine (5.7 Accelerator) a 600 dollar suppository. Won't cycle (regardless of ammo), several major defects, NO return correspondence from mfg in several attempts, won't answer phone. It does shoot pretty well, trigger is OK.

Buyer beware.

Best low-cost plinking bullet is the Midsouth 22 cal 34g VNE at 8 cents per.

Re: Li' Dandy rotor data for TB and AA#7

If you wish to waste your time weighing every single charge to .01g, on a short barrel, floppy action pistol that you can't shoot a 2" group in 50 yds in a machine rest to begin with, go for it. World class BR shooters been using volume throwers and setting records for ages. None of which is the poi...

Re: Anyone loaded the 34gr Dogtown FBHP bullets?

Use the 34g VNE's exclusively, Excel MP 5.7 8.5" barrel Tula SR (NCSR) primers. 6.1g True Blue = 2400 FPS avg 7.7g AA#7 = 2300 avg SS197 on my chrono out of this gun only goes 1900-1950 FPS avg.. Or 1850. Or was that 1950. That stuff is HORRIBLY inconsistent, huge ES and SD. Both are moderate, middl...
