Ive been impressed with Major Pistol. There are a few loads posted already. My only complaint so far is you have to take steps to deal with static cling.

The factory preservative and oil is meant to protect against corrosion during shipping and storage. The firearm should be cleaned before use.
I’ve been cleaning the barrel/shroud assembly with ballistol and lubricating the recommended contact points from the manual w/ Go-Juice. So far so good.

I like to bathe cases in 50% Simple Green for 10 minutes, lightly agitate, and rinse w/ water. No media. Then Hornady One Shot, size, and repeat the procedure. Right now I go w/ Hornady dies.

This can sometimes happen if the spindle / decapping rod is set too low. You might also wanna try cleaning or lightly polishing the inside of the die.

I would start w/ the published loads for 40gr bullets and work up in .1gr increments, checking for pressure signs. I think Ramshot lists TB starting load for 40gr Sierra Hornet at 5.6gr. They have an OAL of 1.45” which seems short. You could potentially increase the OAL if the bullet is longer. I’ve...

I would suggest increasing the charge in .1gr increments (checking for pressure signs along the way) instead of changing the primer. +.1-.2gr ought to get you to 2000fps.

The S4 type bullet gives you the best of both worlds: penetration/tumbling and fragmentation. It does way more damage when the jacket separates (which you start to see at velocities >~2300fps or through disruption) than when it maintains its integrity. OK, I'm getting down to bullet decision. Should I go with the Sierra Blitzking Moly 40gr or the Vmax 40gr? The Sierra is pretty cheap in large quantity from PSA. I'm hoping this guy in Salt Lake City gets another dismantle contract and sells off all the pulled 27gr bullets. I passed on a bucket of ...

Blue Dot is already one of the best for a 28gr bullet. Acc#7 cant be used unless it was extremely compressed. Id say you cant go wrong with Longshot . VVN350 is an excellent all around single base powder. Id stay away from HS6....its really not that great of a powder. Autocomp would be like a slight...

You'd want a slower burning powder when using the longer barrel. Like Rapier suggested, just pull down those rounds (or get rid of them) and don't risk further damage to your gun.

I keep hearing it was smokeless powder. Certainly looks like it could have been. No doubt the media could use that info to whip an anti-gun/anti-reloading frenzy. 5.7gr may be closer to the Max than you think... Havn't worked with HS6 in a while, but I can tell you it is relatively fast burning and the Max can sneak up on you in hurry. Never hurts to err on the safe side, especially with completely new powder/bullet combinations.

Its really an extraneous step for this cartridge. I can't say i've ever seen any real benefits from swaging. Sometimes primers seem like they are too easy to push in even w/o swaging. Now that doesn't mean it couldn't hurt to clean the primer pocket....

Autocomp has a burn rate similar to HS6 so I'd expect it to perform along those lines. Better off using it for .40 IMO

Did you get any chrono results for your reloads? If you want a good load for 40gr Nosler or CT type bullets, try some VVN105. 8.5 or 8.6gr will easily get you 2000fps all day long. 1687 ft/s. That's an impressive accomplishment when you consider the room for error with heavier bullets. Proof EA runs a tight ship.
