Re: First Outing With My Five Seven MKII

GONRA wonders - in the future, see if you can check yer MT's for Punctured Primers.
Those little blown out brass discs are where the firing pin channel debris comes from.
Maybe you have all the fired brass to date and can figger it out?
May even see a few of the little guys in yer pistol?

Re: Lee sizer die 5.7x28

GONRA hadan RCBS Email exchange today (9mm Steyr dies) - got this sad RCBS reply:

"I am very sorry to inform you that we no longer offer Custom Dies.
The Custom Die department was closed in June,
and we can no longer make dies to specific dimensions, or to cases . "

Re: Lee sizer die 5.7x28

GONRA sez geta RCBS SMALL BASE die set, RCBS #45 shell holder,
line it all up to any rotational "sweet spot" in yer particluar press,
(make it a Nice Robust Press, even it looks like "overkill"- to mantain headpace)
use STP Oil Treatment for a sizing lube.
All problems will go away....

Re: Gander Mtn Going out of business sale

GONRA's BRAND NEW Gander Mountain has been open for less than a year. Huge yellow "Going Out Of Business" banner went up 1-2 weeks ago. Decided I better visit it before it disappeared. Inside, noted "Temporary Help Wanted" sign. Wandered around, very well stocked, pistols, ammo, --- not many people....

GONRA' s "Bond Arms Bullpup" (Bond mfg 9mm Boberg) is in UPS transit now. (Fellow Fanatics call it a "9MM Bondbery") will arrive here (LGS) 06/05/2017. Plan to blast away with commercial Winchesrter White Box 9mm ammo first before testing my Prize Winning 9mm Handloads. My ORIGINAL BOBERG MFG 9mm an...

Re: Forum Input for Suppressors

Based on yer "7 month" info, GONRA's expecting Gemtech around May.
Interested in your handload! What brass & primer did you use?

Intention was to use the ORIGINAL EA brass - "drastically reduced case capacity"
but am accumlating data needed to blast away when it arrries.
THANX!

Re: Dillon 650 reloading

GONRA's experience is that you're best served to "resize 5.7 brass" on a large robust single stage press to get consistant headspace. Fired 5.7 cases can/will hava a "body bulge" that is really different from the usual reloading we all are used to. RCBS SMALL BASE dies verk great for me.

BadMrFrosty's using graphite from a powdering a No.2 pencil. GONRA sez - MAYBE its "Just Fine" but remember - "pencil powdered graphite" is NOT the commercially available "powdered graphite" product. "Pencil lead" is a graphite CLAY BINDER mix that compacted and further processed. CLAY don't sound g...

Re: Some observations about reloading for the Five Seven

GONRA sez be SURE to use an EXTREMEY THIN lube coat.
Make sure it doesn't buildup in the neck of the chamber.
(Maybe it Just Won't Build Up of course.)

Greasing cartridges is a nice workaround for all sorts of military semiauto functioning problems.
But its another case of MORE is BAAAAAD!

GONRA's Class 3 LGS ordered a Gemtech SFN-57 several weeks ago - seemingly "No Problem"
but we all no "devil's in the details" on this stuff. Believe it when you have it in hand.

Re: Inconsistent recoil, flash, and ejection

GONRA is Olde and Paranoid - on weighing powder.

Setup my RCBS Chargemaster to tare on my "usual beam balance scale" Powder Pan.
Drop the Powder Charge.

Transfer Powder Pan back to my "usual beam balance scale" to double check weight.

You CANNOT SCREWUP on 5.7X28FN reloading.....

Neck Brace for lawn cutting - any suggestons?

GONRA needs a suggestion for a "neck brace". Gotta neck kink (probably NOT from lawn cutting) so need a "neck brace" during 30-40 minutes eXmark zero turn mowing on slightly bumpy terrain. (Noted ITA-MED Rigid Plastic Cervical Collar sold by Wal*Mart and others. Is THAT any good?) Thanx in advance!
