Re: All Black FiveseveN
since its been about 2 years now since you painted those lil puppies, how is the paint holding up now? and did you treat the plastic parts with something to ensure the primer & paint got a good bond to the plastic? thanks! I did apply a primer, but I will have to dig around to jog that little nugge...

Is this the same FSN that you had problems with 3 years back?

Re: Five seven model help please
If you like the OD color then buy it, or buy MkII and get it colored. Those are your two options. There is another topic that covers the MkII and it's "improvements". Although for some, such as myself, I don't believe in any of these improvements as necessary. Have run multiple FSNs thousands upon t...

Re: Intro and advice
Not from FNH, only from my and others' observations/measurements: Slide: USG was made from 2 welded pieces (3 if you count the end plate). MkII is one piece and is much thicker - so much so that the slides are not interchangeable between the two models. Frame: strengthened/thickened around accessor...

Can you elaborate or point to FnH information that details these several potential failure points?jgreenberg01 wrote:1) The MkII is definitely a more robust gun. FNH has addressed several potential failure points and strengthened it even further than the USG.

Not that I know of but I have heard of frame cracking rumors. Nice collection btw. :thumb: Frame cracking? Hmm ... haven't heard too much of this. Do you have an online source you can reference? Many multiples of thousands of rounds and no cracks here. Not saying the obvious (a fault) can't (or has...

Re: Intro and advice
Is there a real or perceived issue with your FSN that you know or believe the MKII addresses? If not then unless you just want the new model consider staying with your current pistol. It's a workhorse and a fantastic shooter! http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac131/fd57/FSN%20stuff/fsns_zps88be5ecd...

There was a short special on HBO or another premium cable channel a couple weeks back. A making of this film special. Was interesting and if you've read the book and/or seen the film you might look up this special to view it.

The potential gotcha here is one box per order. If you're getting only one box of SS197, with shipping, probably not worth it.Stitches1974 wrote:SS197 for $24.99 a box. http://www.butchsreloading.com/shop/amm ... llets.html

Re: Any Incidents in Range Stories
Indoor range, weekday morning (when the morons with firearms are not sweeping and playing fast trigger), all was normal and then heard a very much louder than usual noise as well as the sound of steel hitting concrete, leaned back and looked down a couple of lanes to see a shooter staggering back an...

In my experience, a signature means nothing. Anyone can sign, rarely do drivers ask for the recipient to sign, or identification of the person signing. With this and the chicken scratch signatures how will requiring a signature stop the missing packages problem?

Re: scar dissembly left over small plastic part??!!!?!?!!
That part is not in the schematic diagram for either 16S or 17S. As you've learned by now.
Someone put that in. Perhaps contact a gunsmith specializing in barrels and stocks to get an answer as to what that part is and why someone may have inserted it.

Never seen that on the 16.
Where did that part fall from, or what did you disassemble?
Right now am thinking it's after market.

Good on these folks for pushing aside the retarded stoppage and enjoying THEIR MONUMENT.
