I have an original AR57 and have the same D shaped case mouth.
I would suspect the case separation would be an ammo issue. Likely, the case was not weak for whatever reason. Maybe @panzermk2 can share his insight.

I checked the buffer on my AR57 (gen2 iirc). It is 3.075 inches. My scale died and I haven't replaced it, but I believe it is in the 4.8 oz range as well. Re: Gun Safe

Please please please take your ammo out of your safe! If you have a fire, your safe will protect your guns from the fire, but it won't protect them from the powder in each of those bullets that starts to burn off when the temperature rises from the fire outside. If you feel the need to store your a...

Re: Gun Safe

I added the pistol holders - they stick on via velcro strips that are sewn into the back side of the holsters. I have never had one come loose in over a year of use and they hold fully loaded guns easily, even my son's big-ass 357. I think this is where I got them from: http://dsafe.stores.yahoo.ne...

Re: Gun Safe

Get a big ass one because you'll always be wanting new guns. In my opinion, some sort of traditional key over-ride is an absolute must. Electronics can and most likely will fail. I don't know what a good heating rating would be, but they are rated for a certain time at a certain temperature, so mak...

Gun Safe

I did not see this topic elsewhere and I wasn't sure where to put this topic, so it goes here (at least for now). I am looking for a gun safe and was wondering what opinions you have as far as brands, options, must-have extras. I have looked at the local stores (Cabelas and Gander Mountain) and some...

I'll give you $30 for the SOG Trident Tanto, but only if it has the plain blade and is 100% authentic and real SOG. Otherwise I'll give you a nickel. I bought an SOG Bipolar knife from Woot for $45 a few months back. They have had other styles for sale as well, this is the one I decided on. You hav...

Thankfully he or his sister was not hurt. Those gangbangers got what they deserved. +1 and 1. Makes me wonder how this would have played out in a city like Chicago? :agree: The son would probably be arrested for the shooting and the dad for having a gun and making it easily accessible to a minor (e...

It's up to $18.57 a box now, but still better than other places I saw. I needed a few boxes so I would have something to shoot prior to Memorial Day.
