Yelraek...for a funnel, try a piping bag tip. You wife will know what that is, if you don't. The funnel does help you keep from losing those few granules of powder when you empty the pan.

Seems to me that you should mic the pilot to see if it is larger than, say, 0.220". If so, then go for the diameter reduction. Mine measures 0.219" and I have no problems. When I first began loading the 5.7, I too was meticulous. But in addition to FTEs, I had FTFs. Going here and asking why that could happen, someone observed that if I didn't ensure the case interior was thoroughly dry before loading, that could do it. Just before Christmas I was in Sportsman's Outdoors here in Bend, Oregon and they had two or three cases of 5.7x28 ammo, marked (as I recall) at $27.95/box. I went back in there just after Christmas and ALL of it was gone. The guy behind the counter said that one guy came in and bought all they had....

I would definitely recommend that you NOT use a gram scale for any reloading task. The scale might have sufficient accuracy and significant digits to make the conversion to grains adequately, but the conversion method will increase your chances of making an error. You want to avoid errors in powder ...
