Re: Legal for Conceal Carry in LA?

If you look at it rationally, there's not a shred of support for the idea that you cannot carry a pistol chambered in the lowly 5.7x28, but you can carry a pistol in the more powerful .38Special, .357 Magnum, .40S&W, .41 Special, .41 Magnum, .45ACP, .44 Special, or .44 Magnum (just to list a few off...

That's actually good information.
It blows my theory all to heck, but that's a risk ya take when you have a theory and new information pops up.

Now I just want to find out when the different models were made, or if there were two molds operating at the same time.

Re: are p90 receiver & ps90 receiver the same?

I'm not seeing what you're talking about. On the top example, just above the left-most screw, the polymer frame makes a 45-degree angle to join the metal receiver. On the bottom example, in the same place (except now it's the right-most screw), the polymer frame continues straight up until it reach...

Re: are p90 receiver & ps90 receiver the same?

Cosmetically... there seems to be a slight difference in the external profile where the front of the receiver meets the barrel, or at least it has seemed that way on every firearm I Knew was a P90 and not a converted PS90. The P90 has a right-angle stepped profile and the PS90 has a 45-degree angle....

I'm pretty sure he means 'will it work with the same slide/rim diameter" that the stock slide has. An oversize or undersize rim isn't going to play well with the face of the slide that's in contact with the base of the cartridge.

Bushnell TRS-25 on my PS90. Very low mounting, good cheek weld, no issues with the dot moving.
For an AR57, you'll need a riser. Choices right now seem to be between airsoft (<$15) and ones that will nearly double your investment (>$60)

I'm kind of partial to the Bushnell TRS-25 red dot.

It's low profile, light weight and durable enough to stand up to much more than a little 5.7x28 round.
Price seems to hover around $100 depending on where you look.

Re: 3D Printed AR57 Worked for 6 rounds

It failed in a known weak area. You can't just duplicate forged aluminum with the same thickness of fused low-strength polymer and expect it to be just as strong. Printed polymer frames are viable, but you have to account for the differences in construction. I'd say they're the 'wave of the future' ...

Re: New possibilities for the 5.7? A gas piston driven 5.7 ?

Well you could possibly put a block in a PMAG to account for the shorter length of the x28 compared to the x45 cartridge, but then you'd have to have a new follower, and very likely a new spring. In terms of diameter at the base you can fit 35-36 rounds of 7.90mm rim diameter 5.7 within the same len...

It's hard to believe this is STILL taking place, considering how long the 5.7x28 has been around.
People are still buying into the hype that the 5.7 is some sort of super-bullet in a fist sized package.

I just took a hacksaw and cut out the webbing between the plastic ends. Two minutes with a bit of sandpaper and a smidge of JBWeld to bond everything.
For free, and it's worked for years.
