Re: Jarvis Threaded barrel

I have bought two fiveseven barrels from them and the experience was similar. They have a big backlog of all kinds of barrel builds and it takes awhile to get to any build. Good for them business is busy. The one thing to consider is if you don't take that barrel and you plan to go through with the ...

People are quicker when reacting than when initiating

I thought this was interesting in respect to self defense. BBC: Inspired by Hollywood cowboy films, researchers have delved into the science of gun fights. Scientists discovered that people move faster when reacting to something than when they perform "planned actions". In an experimental "duel", pu...

Re: Five-seven threaded barrels?

I bought a Jarvis barrel and it was a little tight in the chamber but I used jewelers polish to clean it up. I have since bought a second Jarvis barrel for another 5.7 but I have not used that one yet. I guess the first one was good enough for me to buy a second one. Also they are very helpful if yo...

Re: Win For #1 TX

As a Big 12 grad I was hoping Texas could luck out and win. But Texas was very lucky to end up in that game. People getting hurt is part of the game, conditioning and toughness is required, also a great team will rise to the occasion. The best team won and Saban demonstrates that a top coach can tur...

Re: Glenn Beck gets a call on set

I am reading the biography of Marcus Tullius Cicero (January 3, 106 BC – December 7, 43 BC), the guy that tried to restore the Roman Republic after Gaius Julius Caesar was assassinated. All I can say is none of these antics are new. We just have to fight through to the next elections.

Re: Use the Dems own Website to Send them a No Health Reform

Here is the crap coming out of these people:derail - yes Dear Mr. Abatis, The media are derailing the health care debate. All summer, I've been outraged as headlines and newscasts fed public hysteria about "death panels" and "socialized medicine" at the expense of substantive coverage of the issues....

Use the Dems own Website to Send them a No Health Reform

I get the Democrat junk mail just to keep up on their antics. The latest one I got is from Senator Udall from Colorado. He sends a nice link to a site where you can put in your zip code and gin a message up to support health care. But I didn't use their canned support message, I insert my own messag...

I wish we had the same process as the British Parliamentary Debate where they have an open forum between the government and the opposition. I have watched that on CSPAN and it produces very lively debate.

Has anyone hunted with a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon

I had to put a great hunting lab down do to cancer this year and I truly miss her. A friend of mine mentioned his neighbor got an American Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and really likes the dog. It points and retrieves well - loves the water. Has anyone here ever worked with one? What did you think? T...

Re: Rush on Glen Becks show Freedom of speach under fire

I am very involved in conservative politics and put what little extra money I have supporting candidates I think can make a difference. Even as successful as Rush is, he only touches 15 million people daily, the same 15 million everyday - not much in the total pool of voters. For instance I think ge...

Re: WTF...The Government is so screwed up

With a FiveSeven that bottle *theoretically* becomes a torch once you put a round through it. I would tell the man I was making a torch. Fixed that for you  Well thanks but I think that bottle is toast. Also I feel more "green" when I use my silencer as it collects all that nasty carbon. Thi...

Re: WTF...The Government is so screwed up

You can make a silencer by duct taping a 2-liter bottle full of shredded newspaper to the end of your barrel. Is that worth 5 years in prison? Wow! That's all out of balance. Mike With a FiveSeven that bottle becomes a torch once you put a round through it. I would tell the man I was making a torch.
